Dave & I did the Gaviota Peak hike, but we added a side trip to see where a new trail led too.  At the time it seamed like a good idea.....

The camera GPS log shows the exact path taken.  The small loop at the very bottom of the Terrain map is the detour away from the main trail. 

Double click the first picture, scroll down and select next to proceed. The comments under each picture provides the story.
