The bike ride was a loop starting on East Camino Cielo and continuing to Gibraltar road , Cathederal Oaks, and back by way of 154. As can be seen in the first picture, I did not complete the loop. However, I did complete the exact portion of the loop I planned. The second photo is the elevation profile. The biking professionals training for races in the European Alps ride the course from right to left. Well, I don’t plan on competing in the Alps anytime soon, so I rode it from left to right. That makes it easier; not easy, but easier. Dave did complete the loop to get the car and came back to pick me up as planned.
I have includes a few pictures, but they are mostly of the inland views. There is the beautiful city of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean below; but they were well hidden by a thick layer of clouds… It was a tough climb, and I took plenty of rest stops, but it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
