My friend Dave had been asking me to do a backpacking trip to Cone Peak for awhile. The results of that trip is below. I document the hike one day at a time. The first picture is on the coast of California with an arrow pointing to the general area of Big Sur and Cone Peak. It is an interesting area because Cone Peak is over 5,000 feet, and yet it is less than 5 miles from the Pacific surf. I will provide detailed maps and Elevation profiles for each day.
