At 7:00 AM it is foggy and cold in Lompoc

15.3 miles later at the top of Gaviota, it is still foggy. MOVIE to follow after historical photos of the pass

AT first it was only a 1 person path over the rocks, that got widened to a path a house could navigate; seen here.

Not a god path, but a path

A primitive bridge was installed

…and later a better bridge

A tunnel was cut for the north bound lanes

..and finally the freeway we have today

Nothing to see at the overlook view area

The BoD is 1.6 miles south of the overlook

Just past the BoD, and always a smile to have made it.

This is the entire ride, easy to see the drop down to the pass, at the 20 mile point

Between the arrows is the portion shown in the long video next

MOVIE: VERY long video of last section along the beach. May be boring, but this is the people you see at 1:00 PM on a Thursday near the beach

..and finally, my destination

Good food..

…and great beer

I have now ridden this route 10 times since 2018. This was the fastest time. Difference was due to time spent picture taking and rest breaks, and not better physical conditioning LOL
